Mandie Gogh is an abstract surrealist who predominantly uses acrylic paints throughout her work. Gogh’s unique process explores dark themes using a vivid color palette with traditionally feminine iconography, creating a dichotomy between subject and medium. Gogh often explores heavy subjects such as, but not limited to: loss, environmental crises, and the challenges of motherhood. Gogh’s goal is to help the viewer feel seen and encourage the discovery of beauty that is present in life’s challenges. Mandie Gogh has exhibited throughout Pennsylvania and Virginia, both individually and collaboratively within group shows organized by the local artist collectives: 757 Create and The Womxn’s Connective. Mandie Gogh is from Chesapeake, Virginia. She is a mother of two wild kids and the wife of a foodie husband. Gogh loves both quiet moments alone and the boisterous aspect of family life.
